We believe
Plastic is toxic, and recycling doesn’t work
For the past 50 years, plastic recycling has been seen as the sustainable solution. But the sad truth is, it simply isn’t. Since their widespread commercialization in the 1960s, 9.2 billion tons of plastics have been created, but only 10%* has been recycled properly – the rest is either burned or remains a forever plastic that leaches toxins into our bodies, land and oceans. And the plastics that do get recycled degrade in quality during the recycling process, so they can’t be recycled again.
That means those ‘recyclable’ products you’ve been selling? While they might check a box, they’re not biodegradable, meaning they will never break down and will continue to cause damage to the environment, the oceans and our bodies. That’s why many sustainability leaders are placing the plastic waste crisis on par with the climate crisis.
The old way of being green just isn’t cutting it, and at Source Green, we're driven by the belief that we have to act differently – our children’s future depends on it
That’s why we’re the only company in the world that sources 100% biobased and compostable materials that don’t use any petrochemicals or plastic, making the planet better with each use.
Together, we can solve the plastic waste crisis.
Our vision
A future where consumers don’t have to choose between the planet and products they love
Every product in our marketplace will help you uphold your commitments to making a better tomorrow, whatever industry you’re in. That way, you can give customers what they want while elevating your brand and helping us change the packaging industry forever. Are you in?
Our values
Radical transparency
We’re fighting greenwashing and misleading advertising by being completely transparent about how and where we source our materials. Transformation starts with education, and we’re committed to sharing every last detail to help you on your journey.
Collective effervescence
This term describes the magic that happens when we all unite to create change. We’re in this together, and we want to make your job as easy as possible by bringing you the best products in one marketplace, so you can get what you need and get on with the fight against plastic waste.
People & Planet First
We want to change the world. But to do that, we need to ensure that the environment and those that share it with us are respected, protected and empowered to thrive. That’s why we are (pending) B Corp Certified – so we can use our business as a force for good.
Revolutionary innovation
We’re committed to only sourcing materials that dispose completely, meaning they don’t remain in the environment like plastic does. Everything we offer either comes from plants or waste by-products, and we source every material with End of Life disposal and circular solutions as our north star goal.
